Yes… and the church, most governments, etc. I totally get it. Which is why nature, I’m afraid, will take its wrath.

MAX earth can sustain? 7.7 billion people. We're over 8 billion now. There was ~3 billion when I was born in 1951. SO, I agree with you and would add it's the speed of growth and the rate of accompanying non-sustainable infrastructures at the root of the problem.

https://www.theworldcounts.com/populations/world/10-billion-people

The UN paper: “How Many People? A Review of Earth’s Carrying Capacity” presents three different routes of change:

1. The “bigger pie” scenario: Technical evolutions in green energy and materials efficiency and reuse mean that we can get more out of the resources Earth has.

2. The “fewer forks” scenario: Meaning simply fewer people.

3. The “better manners” scenario: Humanity (as in every single one os us) reduces our impact on the planet and makes decisions based on the full impact on Earth and ecosystems (complete internalization of costs in economic terms). Examples are the use of renewable energy and reuse of materials instead of throwing them out.

I'd hope to see all 3, but it'll never come to pass until liberal/environmentalists STOP trying to find this industry or that to blame. For example the oil/gas industry just followed what the public demanded. And accusing/blaming just solidifies and tightens those in the public who're not understanding the problem.

And there are more than we think...

Most of those somewhat aware of the GW issue and human nature rest assured that "it" will be solved for us. LIG or RIP- I have to agree with darlene, Oh, and have a nice day.

I agree with your summary of our current climate change situation, but unfortunately, decreasing "native" population #s is in opposition to ideas spewed by our new leadership (esp. Musk & JD :-(
