Indeed it is, in fact, it already is the time to buy an EV. As a new owner of an EV myself, I can honestly say I would never switch back to ICE. The quiet ride, instant torque, and convenience of just plugging in at home is fantastic.
I believe I read that there is another battery type as well that is less expensive but sacrifices a bit a range. Tesla is putting them into lower priced models soon.

That is the LFP and they are already on the low end models. They don't sacrifice range so much as they are heavier.
